Gaston L'HeureuxKéroul will launch its Partageons la piste awareness campaign on July 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lachine Canal services centre (Lock No. 5). This initiative aims to encourage all users, including persons with restricted physical abilities, to ride the province’s bike paths in a respectful manner.

Gaston L’Heureux will be Master of Ceremonies for the occasion.

Launch of The Accessible Road 2009

La Route Accessible - CouvertureThe first tourist map created specifically with the needs of persons with restricted physical abilities in mind

Aware of the need to promote accessible tourism and culture in a sustainable manner, Kéroul has launched an English version of its new geographic map, The Accessible Road. This invaluable tool for planning travel and getaways in Québec is “focused on accessibility” and offers up a whole network of “tourist sites featuring infrastructures that are adapted to persons with limited physical ability.”

The 19th fund raising gala of the Kéroul organization

Honourary President: Mister Claude Trudel, the Verdun arrondissement mayor and the Montreal Transit Corporation (STM) president

Montreal, November 21, 2008 – The 19th fund raising gala of the Kiroul organization was held in the Montreal Science Center. Presided by Mister Claude Trudel, the Verdun arrondissement mayor and the Montreal Transit Corporation (STM) president, the evening was a full success.

Behind counters representing decorated after Montreal metro stations, well-known chefs offered gourmet dishes to the guests.

The evening Opus gastronomique allowed the guests to discover new flavours while Keroul was able to raise the generous amount of $116,000. According to Mister André Leclerc, the chief executive officer of Keroul, the sale of tickets was done in record time. “The concept of the evening was widely applauded. Many weeks beforehand, all the tickets had been sold which shows without a doubt, the growing interest in Keroul’s cause,” added Mister Leclerc.

The only tourist guide for persons with restricted physical ability

Le Québec Accessible's cover pageIn collaboration with Ulysse Travel Guides, Kéroul is today launching the 7th edition of its tourist directory Le Québec accessible. This publication and its companion the Accessible Road brochure are ideal guidebooks for persons with limited physical ability who want to vacation or go on short excursions in Quebec.

Thanks to their past success, we now have the great pleasure of offering you new editions of these indispensable tourist guides. These publications are perfect examples of the work being done by Kéroul. “Our organization has been developing and maintaining fruitful relations with people active in associative, tourist, cultural, and governmental circles, with the objective of making Quebec the accessible destination par excellence”, explains André Leclerc, Kéroul’s managing director and founder.

Accessible Road Cover pageThe tourist directory Le Québec accessible lists 1,000 establishments and tourist sites in Quebec which have been evaluated and rated according to the criteria of Kéroul's scale of accessibility. Museums, historical sites, theatres, cinemas, hotels and bed-and-breakfast spots are a few examples of the establishments and places presented in the guide. In this one guidebook you will find all of the adapted or partially accessible tourist and cultural establishments available to persons with limited physical ability in Quebec. And this guidebook, with its spiral binding and user friendly layout, makes it easy to flip open for just a quick glance.

Bravo to the winner of the 18th Kéroul Award

Parc SafariParc Safari has received the 2008 Kéroul award for work done to improve its infrastructures and services and make them more accessible to disabled persons.

Formerly only partially accessible, Parc Safari has invested heavily in making its facilities more welcoming to disabled persons.

Gaston L'Heureux, one of Kéroul's directors, handed out this award at the gala of the Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois held in Montreal last May 9th.


Kéroul receives the support of Tourisme Laval and Groupe Galland at the 2008 Awards Gala

Autobus Galland adaptéAndré Leclerc, CEO of Kéroul, accepted, on behalf of the organization, a cheque for $35,000 and also got a big surprise from the president of Groupe Galland. From now on, one of the adapted buses in Michel Galland’s fleet will boldly display the Kéroul logo.

Hosted by Tourisme Laval, this year’s awards gala took place before the attentive gaze of hundreds of guests. André Leclerc seized the occasion to spotlight Tourisme Laval’s 20 years of service and to thank its CEO, Andrée Courteau, as well as Michel Galland and all the guests for their generosity and for the support they have all given to Kéroul’s mission.
