Kéroul's Fundrasind Gala : Astronomical Results of $130,000

$130,000 checkThe CEO leaving Montreal Casino's Cabaret last Tuesday evening was one extremely happy man. André Leclerc, the founder of Kéroul, had the wind in his sails. Kéroul's fundraising gala, with James C. Cherry (CEO of Montreal Airports) as honourary chairman, had just brought in the colossal sum of $130, 000. Never before in its history had Kéroul collected so much money.

Jean-Pierre Malot, André Leclerc, Albert Milaire, Honourable Lise ThibeaultAt this highly colourful affair, hosted by that ineffable thespian, Albert Millaire, a parade of Kéroul's faithful friends stepped up to show their support, including the Honourable Lise Thibault, Quebec's Lieutenant Governor and Alain Paquet, the deputy from Laval-des-Rapides, representing the minister of tourism, Françoise Gauthier.

Awards were also handed out to loyal supporters of Kéroul's endeavours. Michel Rheault, managing director of Quebec's Corporation de l'industrie touristique received the Michel Carpentier award. Louis-Philippe Barbeau, vice-president of Crop, and Louis Jolin, director of the Bacclalauréat en Gestion du toursime et de l'hôtellerie ESG at UQAM, both members of Kéroul's advisory committee, each received a souvenir plaque honouring their unfailing attendance at the fundraising gala over many years.

All through the evening , the silent auction and drawings kept everyone's curiosity, wishes, and dreams riveted on various prizes (each one more fabulous than the next): a Cirque du Soleil mask, a balloon autographed by the Alouettes, a trip to Tunisia, to name only three.

Basking in the extraordinary success of the event, James C. Cherry, the gala's honourary chairman, passed on this mandate for the 2007 fundraising gala to Claude Rousseau, first vice-president in charge of Sales to Large Firms, Quebec and Public Sectors at Bell Canada. Mr. Rousseau was enthusiastic in accepting to take on the challenge.

The Boogie Wonder Band closed the evening with rousing renditions of funk and disco music. The Casino Cabaret was transformed into one big DISCO and it was fun, fun, fun!

Kéroul would like to thank the organizing committee, the advisory committee, JPdL, the Montreal Casino, Montreal Airports, Air Transat, Bell Canada, RBC Capital Markets, Tourisme Montréal, Desjardins Caisse centrale and all the other donors and sponsors for having helped to make this fundraising gala an unprecedented success.
