Launch of The Accessible Road 2010 by Kéroul

Montreal, May 20, 2010

This is the fifth edition of The Accessible Road. An invaluable tool for planning travel and getaways in Québec, the map offers up a whole network of tourist sites featuring accessible infrastructures. As well, the staff at these locations (900 people) have all received Kéroul's Welcoming Ways training on providing service to persons with restricted physical ability.

This year, The Accessible Road presents some 150 establishments with Kéroul-certified accessibility. The 2010 edition of The Accessible Road highlights 12 tourist regions, three of which are new: Charlevoix for a trip along the St. Lawrence River between Québec City and Tadoussac; Manicouagan for whale-watching out of Tadoussac, from Les Bergeronnes to Les Escoumins; and the Laurentians for access to the mountains, including Mont Saint-Sauveur, Mont Tremblant and the Parc du Domaine Vert.

Visit www.theaccessibleroad.com to learn more about Québec's regions, get inspired by collections like Science, Arts & Culture and Parks and Gardens, and plan a successful tourist experience with the website’s handy transportation tips and video clips. "With The Accessible Road, you'll discover the best of what Québec has to offer!" said André Leclerc, Kéroul's founder and CEO.

We wish to thank our valued partners for their help in developing and promoting accessible tourism in Québec, and for preparing the tourist and cultural industry to provide service to a growing market: Aéroports de Montréal, Centre de réadaptation Lucie-Bruneau, Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Tourism Eastern Townships, Tourisme Charlevoix, Tourisme Chaudière-Appalaches, Tourisme Laurentides, Tourisme Laval, Tourisme Montréal, Tourisme Outaouais, Québec City Tourism, Tourisme Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and Transport Québec.
