The Maison Alphonse Desjardins Receives the 20th Mention Kéroul Award

The Mention Kéroul is a unique award that honours and spotlights a cultural or tourist site made accessible to persons with restricted physical ability. Presented at the Gala des Grands Prix du tourisme québécois 2010, the Mention Kéroul was conferred by a jury of eight people from Québec's community of stakeholders in tourism and culture.
"This year, the Mention Kéroul was awarded to the Maison Alphonse Desjardins to underscore its efforts to improve the accessibility of infrastructures and services for this clientele. Located in the heart of Old Lévis, this historical interpretation centre has been open to the public since 1982. The Desjardins family lived in the house for more than half a century," said André Leclerc, Kéroul's CEO. The award was presented to Pierre Poulin, Historian and Director, and Esther Normand, Conservation and Administration Advisor at the Société historique Alphonse Desjardins.
Kéroul is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make tourism and culture accessible to persons with restricted physical abilities. Every year, as part of the Gala des Grands prix du tourisme québécois, Kéroul presents the Mention Kéroul award alternately to the manager of a tourist attraction or establishment. The award highlights the efforts made to improve the accessibility of infrastructures and services provided to persons with restricted physical ability.
