Additional Information
Access to the family trail from the parking lot is via a long slope with an approximate 8% grade on a surface of coarse gravel. The trail is then paved with compacted rock dust. The route is generally flat, but some sections have slopes of up to 20%.
Family activities, such as themed animal stations and reading stops, are available along the route. A lookout point overlooking Lake Amigo is located near the rest stop. A rest area there is accessible via a 91-cm-wide wooden bridge. A non-accessible dry toilet is also located near the rest stop. A few other rest areas are located along the trail, but they are not accessible.
Description
The Far Hills sector of the Val-David–Val-Morin Regional Park features forest trails, scenic views of the Laurentians, and a variety of outdoor activities available year-round. The site also offers trails suited to different hiking levels, as well as nature interpretation activities for families.
