          Description

Dante park is a public park in Montreal located in the Little Italy district.
Inaugurated on June 26, 1963, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Italian parish Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense foundation, its name recalls the Italian poet Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), the autor of the Divine Comedy. The Dante monument, formerly located in Parc Lafontaine, has been there since 1964.
This public space has also become a gathering place for the inhabitants of the district where it's possible to enjoy tables in shade or to play a game of bocce (italian variant of pétanque).
