Description
Located in Saint-Hilarion, at the highest point of Principale Street, the Halte de la Croix offers a panoramic view of the mountains, farm valleys, and surrounding landscapes. To get there, follow the main road from Carrier Street, pass the church on your right, and continue almost to the top. Before heading back down, after the last house, a steep little path on the left leads to the overlook. From the parking lot, a short trail then takes you to the cross, benches, and interpretive signs detailing the history of Saint-Hilarion and the formation of the landscape. The rest area is also an ideal spot to view the Charlevoix astrobleme, formed by an ancient meteorite impact.
